Chris, can i ask how you deal with no support for the magento shopping cart? i would like to use for a client of mine but with no support for the free version, I fear I might run into problems, but I have a programmer that I think could help figure things out. Is their FAQ good? Have you run into many problems?

I was wondering if you could share with me the usability of Magento shopping cart. I have a client who wants to use but I fear without support, it might be problematic even though the reviews are great. Can you tell me if they have a good FAQ, if you have had continuing problems or problems you can't resolve and how user-friendly it is. I have a programmer who can help with most problems, but want to make sure I cover my bases by talking first-hand to people who have used it first. any input is greatly appreciated!

Sorry I didn't see your question until now. I've only evaluated Magento for a few clients, not used it in production. Magento does offer paid support plans, but I haven't tried them myself. I just found these links on their site.

They also have a support FAQ

As with any established open source project, I imagine there is also a network of independent consultants offering support and customization.
