More options for site management

Currently there is no way to maintain a site through the control panel. We have the option of installing something like wordpress, but I would be more interested in just being able to edit files and am not generally that interested in the majority of what wordpress has to offer. I'm also not always on a computer that has PuTTY or any other web development package when I want to do something.

I'd like to see the option to add/amend/delete files and folders directly from the control panel.

Domain Switch

A shared account can have one name and many aliases.

I'm was pondering the dumping / moving of the domain associated with a shared account in favor of an alias, but I see no way to promote an alias.

I could open an new account, but that means a change of login and anyone relying on the single sign-on for this feedback community might have a problem with that. So a much better way would be to change the domain within the account.

Modified email system

I often give out an alias to each company I deal with when handing out email addresses so that determining a source of spam is easier. It would also be nice if the 'from' address in any reply I send could be set to the 'to' address that it was sent to, so that the same alias is used in outgoing email too, without me having to modify my settings for each individual email that I want to send out.

Allow user submitted changes

I've already suggested modifying the email system, but since a lot of it is based around open source software (squirrelmail for example) we already have the opportunity to change it ourselves. The problem though is that this change will never - at the moment at least - get used on the live system.

If we come up with such changes - I'm tempted to try and look at squirrelmail myself to see if it can be modified - then it would be nice if we had a way of submitting these changes to modwest and suggest that you use them.

IP banning

Organizations and Government tend not to hide behind proxies and their users users usually have to sell their soul to justify their internet access which will then be monitored; so IP banning can be quiet effective.

I just thought it would be useful be able to do the banning from within OnSite.

Spam Filter Whose Blacklist Filter Recognizes Subdomains

It would be nice if the spam filter blacklist would default to catching subdomains.

For instance, if I enter:
*@spammers.com

It won't catch *@smarter.spammers.com

I don't want to have to go to my blacklist every time spammers.com comes up with another subdomain to enter a new entry. Also, it wouldn't make much sense to have to have two spam rules that looked like this:
*@spammers.com
*@*.spammers.com
(if this is even valid)

It seems that *@spammers.com should be enough.

Maybe a checkbox to enable/disable this behavior instead of default.
