'Tis the season of giving, they say, and so we're planning on making a donation to one or more charities guided by the answers and votes here.
At the end of the month, we'll make a donation to the top-voted charity (as long as it's a public benefit charity, not a political fund or anything inappropriate.)

Denver for brain surgery. If the surgery is successful, it would CURE his epilepsy! Check out www.zanesworld.org for more information. [show less]

God's Company is a start-up NPO based out of Keller, Texas. The founders have been greatly involved in their local community for years.Their mission is to find practical solutions to the problems we face in today's economy. Their work is to deliver God's people from hunger, poverty, unemployment, unbelief, and general health issues. Their goal is to encourage a generation to be prepared in every way: mentally, spiritually and physically. Their goal this Christmas season is quite lofty: to feed 560 local, needy families over the entire Christmas break. Most of the families fly well under the radar of large donation and food organizations so any support is even more directly felt.

We partner with local communities throughout the developing world to provide quality educational opportunities by establishing libraries, creating local language children's literature, constructing schools, and providing education to girls. We seek to intervene early in the lives of children in the belief that education empowers people to improve socioeconomic conditions for their families, communities, countries and future generations. Through the opportunities that only education can provide, we strive to break the cycle of poverty, one child at a time.

For most people the holidays mean being surrounded by family and friends while enjoying festive parties and holiday gifts. Yet for many older adults, the holidays are especially lonely.
A holiday donation from Modwest, however, would certainly lift the spirits of many older adults in our community.
Each day the staff and volunteers at Missoula Aging Services work hard to promote the independence, dignity and health of older adults and those that care for them through advocacy, education, services and volunteer opportunities.
Your vote and a donation from Modwest will help to ensure that more than 500 seniors in Missoula County will receive a hot meal through the Meals On Wheels program. Your vote and a donation from Modwest will mean more than 700 active, older adults will be matched with meaningful volunteer opportunities in our community. Your vote and a donation from Modwest will allow caregivers to get the necessary respite they need to continue to care for their loved ones.
Please consider voting for Missoula Aging Services. Together we can help make sure Missoula remains a great place to grow old! [show less]

I'm Zane's Mom and I wanted to thank each of you who voted for my son Zane, and especially thank Modwest for their generous contribution to Zane and his medical needs. We are humbled, again and again, by the immense generosity and kindness we have encountered on this heartbreaking journey with our son. Honestly, words are not enough. Thank you. Elaine Sheff
